HR 341 Urges others to increase public awareness of the dangers of celebratory gunfire and creates a study committee to look into ways to adopt stronger laws against celebratory gunfire. Yes Resolution Passed
HB 5 Repeals all laws from 16-11-100 through 16-11-173. Removes all carry laws from the books, including the carry license and preemption law. Without state preemption, locals can ban firearms. No license also means no reciprocity. Once again would be a felony to walk past a bus stop while carrying. No In the Judiciary Non-Civil Committee
HB 6 Removes Governor's power during a declared emergency to limit or suspend the sale, transport, or dispensing of firearms. Yes In the Judiciary Committee.
HB 54 Removes "Places of worship" from the list of unauthorized locations for weapons carry Yes In the Judiciary Non-Civil Committee
HB 55 Removes public and private colleges, vocational schools and other institutes of postsecondary education from the school zone law Yes In the Judiciary Non-Civil Committee
HB 286 Requires that anyone born after July 1, 1991 must complete a training class on the features of a handgun and a brief explanation of loading, firing, and unloading of the weapon (live fire is not required). No In the Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee.
HB 679 Allows those who are not prohibited from posessing a firearm to carry a firearm without a license. Yes In the Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee.
SB 26 Removes power to ban or restrict firearms during a state of emergency. Yes Passed Senate
Now in House Judiciary Committee
SB 94 Changes the definition of "long gun" by removing the length restriction (still has to have a stock, and does not include sawn-off rifles or sawn-off shotguns). Clarifies the minimum bullet size of long guns and handguns.
House completely rewrote the bill and changed it to be the "Runaway Youth Safety Act" and no longer has anything to do with firearms or weapons.

SB 98 Removes a few places that are currently off limits to license holders, such as places of worship. Yes Passed Senate
Now in House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee
SB 102 Clarifies a few definitions, removes places of worship as off-limits, clarifies that airports are not off-limits, makes reciprocal licenses the same as resident license, removes fingerprinting from renewals, some knives are expressly preempted from local ordinances. Still has a few problems, such as exempting any elected official from following the carry laws. Yes Passed Senate
